The Missing Ingredient.

Hi hi!

Well as the title says, there is a missing ingredient. I will explain this.

Background:
I was doing really good with the running.. like a month ago. haha! I even did a 4.5 mile run at one point, which was mentioned in an earlier post. However, I got really busy with lacrosse practice, and I didn't really want to push myself too hard where I was running and then going to lacrosse. I did that for a week, and I was completely gone by the end of the week. Just completely exhausted. Needless to say, the next week I didn't really run at all. I promised myself at the end of that week that the next week I would run the days I didn't have lacrosse practice. Well guess what happened?

Next:
I flippin' got injured at a lacrosse game at a tournament. I rolled my ankle, and wasn't able to walk, let alone, run during that whole week. Now it's been like 3-4 weeks since I have run, and I have no idea how to convince myself how to get back into it. Now, anyone who knows me, knows that i'm not really the type to be totally into running, nor would I be good at it, but I really really miss it. I may not be fast (I run a 10:30 mile), and I may look ridiculous running with my beat red face and breathless breathing, but I do miss it. There's that part in me that just wants to get back to it, but at the same time I have one thing going through my head.
1. I'm going to go and not be able to run as far as I did when I stopped, or I will be incredibly slow.

Future:
I have a 10K race on April 28th. That's about 2.5 months from now. How the heck am I going to show up to that, and run it successfully if I can't get myself to run? Plus the fact that I was only running on a treadmill, and I don't care what anyone says, it's completely different than running outside. If I start running strictly on the treadmill for the next 2.5 months, even if I was running 6.2 miles, I won't be ready for that race, and I don't want to fail epically. So for now, I am hoping that my ankle is completely healed real quick, and for warm enough weather where I can run outside, because I don't want to break my goal. I want to run that race, and not be dead last, and I want to run the whole thing.

Maybe I should go running tonight...? hahaha. That's a good joke, right?

Newest designs

howdy!

Quick and dirty post coming up!

Watermelon nails!

Water marble nails!

1. Fill small bowl/cup of room temp water
2. Paint nails with base coat- I did White.
3. Use scotch tape around nails (easier for clean-up)
4. Pick several colors: I picked hot pink, purple, blue, orange, and another pink color.
5. Open each so it's a faster process.
6. Take each color and drop a dot of it into the water. (it should spread a little bit.
7. After you have desired colors in water take a needle and sketch a pattern in the watered nail polish.
8. Face nail down into water. Make sure the nail is completely submerged in water.
9. Take needle and trace it around the nail to pick up all extra nail polish in the water.
10. Pull nail out.
11. Let dry, and pull tape off.
12. After this is complete take nail polish remover and go around nails for any boo-boos!
13. Use a clear top coat for longer lasting effects!

Wait what? It's February?

Hi everybody!

Well, this week has been a little interesting when it comes to running. I haven't actually done any of my running plan. This is because I am one of the captains of the lacrosse team at my college. This last week we did "emergency practices" because we have a big game this coming Friday. We practiced Mon/Wed on the track at school. We did run, but it wasn't enough to count for my actual running plan. On Monday, I stayed after practice and ran 6 extra laps with a girl on the team, but still that wasn't enough.. I just couldn't force myself to keep going. I ran about 3ish miles. On Wednesday, I ran 2 miles with the team, and then did about 8 or 9 laps of sprinting/walking after practice. I still feel like that wasn't enough, but I couldn't get myself to keep going. At this point, I feel like I should be running 4 or 5 miles when I run. I had successfully run 4.5 miles at one point about 2 weeks ago which is a huge accomplishment, but that is why I feel like I should still be doing that. I have a race on April 28th, so I really need to get at it.

Anyway, on Tuesday we did P90X plyometrics. Holy moly is that difficult. The guy on that is CRAZY! On Thursday, we tried to do the "shoulders and back" section on P90X, but did not realize it required weights.. so we quit that within 5 minutes, and one of the girls ran an ab workout. On Friday, we had our first real practice where we practiced 3 hours. I lost my voice, because I had to yell over the international soccer players and the music in the gym. But it was a really great practice because the girls really improved from the first part of the practice to the end, it's great to see our hard work pay off. So, hopefully our game goes well this Friday.

On other news, I am going to Nebraska on the 24th for a lacrosse tournament. I don't get out often, so I am super excited to see another part of the United States. There isn't much else going on, I feel like I am being bad at eating again. I am back at school so of course there is more commons food... which is bad, but hopefully my weight isn't back to where it was.

Hope everyone is doing well.
