Locked Out.

Wake up, get dressed, put shoes on, Ipod, cellphone... I then read a note. "Missy, going to a doctor appt. won't be back till later this afternoon." I nodded to myself, and walked to the front door for my run. Open the door, lock the door behind me and shut it. What's the missing part in this equation? Oh yeah, keys.

So, as you can see today I had a run. My training plan was to run 30 minutes on a rolling hill course. I started with a quick warm up walk. This is because there aren't many hills except for a good 10 minutes from my house.

I had done this course once before, so I knew how difficult it was for me the last time. The first hill put me to a walk at the top. Last night, as I lay awake thinking about my workout.. I told myself that there would be no walking at the top of that hill, and that's exactly what happened. I ran up that hill faster, and no walking came after. I made it 2x further than I did last time without walking.

I rounded the bend on the circle around town (approx. half way into the run..) something dinged in my mind.. Wait, did I read a note that the family is gone? Yes, I did. FUDGE! I don't have keys, and the spare is inside!?

I got back to my steps dehydrated, hungry and my mind was playing tricks on me. Fantastic.

Our roof was dripping water, and I was in desperate need of a drink after my run. I walked right over and treated my self to a snow slush cocktail courtesy of my roof. Classy, right? The next few minutes, were not nearly as exciting though. Forty minutes later, I heard the sound of crunching snow.

Anywho, that's how my day began. A crappy run, followed by being locked out.

I was extremely positive though. My Facebook status, in the midst of being locked out: "Well perfect!! Locked myself outta the house. Staying positive, though. Firstly, its nice weather.. secondly, I'm outside instead of inside being a couch potato.. right?"

...So when everything seems to being going wrong, how do you all beat out your mind?

Hope others enjoyed the wonderful weather that was brought to us. It reached 36 here.. Beginning of January! Yay!

Live Confidently.
